If you’ve purchased a digital SLR in the last few years, chances are your camera has video capability built-in. This class will help new videographers get started with video, and help those with prior video experience apply those skills to the SLR format. Students will learn about camera set-up and operation, and how frame rates, shutter speeds and aperture affect moving images. The class will explore the most appropriate (and essential) equipment

when shooting with an SLR, and discover the camera – and audio recording – techniques critical to quality production. Students will learn the basics of video editing, putting it all together to create a quality, cohesive production. Experience with the fundamentals of SLR still photography is very helpful when moving to video, as most principles of photographic exposure apply to both. It is recommended that students take Photo I prior or have an equivalent base of skills.
